UNITECTURE is an award winning design consultancy firm led by Ar. Dhairyasheel Powar, which specializes in Architecture, Interiors and Planning. They have an extensive background with an international award winning projects portfolio in commercial, residential, institutional, hospitality design and planning.
Unitecture believes that the habitants of any building perform better, when the design of that space contributes to the experience it offers.
- This structure was designed as an office building about 20 years back and it was not in use for almost 8 years. The office building was reused as students’ housing like a co-living project. The structure houses living spaces, a co-educating cafe and a corporate office for its operators.
- The design approach adopted ensured adaptive reuse of the existing building by retaining the character of the building with textured concrete, circular columns, courtyards on front and rear side of the building.
- The design of the hostel is in consideration with the young mind-set- a very contemporary and enthusiastic design with minimal interiors while accommodating the students in a luxurious setting. Balancing out their private and social life has been achieved through this design.
The major challenge was to create a modern hospitality unit in the building, especially the reconfiguration of all the floors to accommodate in-suit bathrooms, breakout area and all the facilities for collective living..
Thus, a design response which ensures a comfortable, energetic and healthy lifestyle whilst also seeking to promote a sustainable and diverse community was born.
